PRIVACY POLICY
How Remix Studio handles data
Effective 13 September 2026. Operator: Parikshit Sharma, doing business as Remix Studio, at remixstudio.shop. This page is a product privacy notice based on common local-app templates. It is not legal advice.
Short version
The desktop app keeps your footage, scripts, models, and exports on your computer. Generation does not upload your files to Remix Studio. The website stores only what it needs to sell and recover a license: your Google account, the sealed key, a recovery code, and a device hash after activation. Card and UPI details go to Razorpay, not to us. We do not sell account data.
Who this covers
This policy covers the website at remixstudio.shop, the license API, and the Remix Studio desktop apps for Mac and Windows. Third-party products you connect yourself (Google, Razorpay, YouTube, and any AI provider whose key you paste into the app) have their own policies.
What the website stores
- Google account identifiers used at checkout or on Manage: email, display name, and the Firebase user id. We request basic profile and email only.
- The license key and recovery code, stored sealed so we can show them back to the same account.
- Payment references from Razorpay (order id, payment id, amount, currency, status). We do not receive or store full card, UPI PIN, or CVV data.
- After activation: a hash of the computer, a device name you or the OS provide, and activation time. That is how one key stays on one machine at a time.
- Transfer history needed to rotate a key. The previous device stops after it next checks in.
Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. Google’s privacy policy applies to that sign-in: policies.google.com/privacy.
Payments
Checkout runs on Razorpay. Card, netbanking, wallet, and UPI details are collected by Razorpay on their pages. Remix Studio never sees those details. After a successful payment we receive confirmation metadata so we can issue the key. Razorpay’s policy: razorpay.com/privacy.
India buyers may be charged in INR. Other buyers are charged in USD when Razorpay accepts it. The listed price on the homepage is $49, one time. There is no subscription.
What the desktop app does
- Imported video, audio, transcripts, generated Shorts, and project files stay on the computer you installed on.
- License activation and occasional license checks send the key and a device identifier to our API. The app is designed to keep working offline after the first successful activation.
- YouTube publishing happens only after you review a Short and confirm. We do not upload your channel content in the background.
- If you add a third-party API key (for example an AI provider), that key stays on your machine. Remix Studio’s servers do not need it to issue a license.
We do not operate a third-party analytics SDK inside the desktop app. Standard hosting logs on the website and API may include IP address, URL, user agent, and time, used for security and debugging.
What we do not collect
- Your source footage or finished Shorts, unless you choose to publish them to a service you connect.
- Payment card numbers or UPI secrets.
- Advertising profiles. We do not run ads on remixstudio.shop.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
Cookies and similar tech
The website uses cookies or local storage required for Google sign-in and to keep you signed in on Manage. We do not set advertising cookies. Blocking cookies may prevent checkout or Manage from working.
How long we keep it
License, account, and activation records are kept while the license can still be used or recovered. If we refund and revoke a key, we keep the minimum payment record needed for accounting and fraud prevention. Support mail is kept as long as it is useful to answer you. Hosting logs rotate on ordinary server schedules.
Sharing
We share data only with processors that run the product:
- Google / Firebase — sign-in.
- Razorpay — payments.
- Railway and related hosting or object storage — website, API, and download files.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to prevent abuse, or to complete a refund or chargeback.
Your choices
- See your key and recovery code while signed in at /manage.
- Transfer the license to another computer. That rotates the key.
- Ask us to correct or delete account data we hold. Deleting license records means that key can no longer be recovered or activated.
- Revoke Google access from your Google account settings.
Where a data-protection law gives you extra rights (access, correction, deletion, restriction, complaint to an authority), we will honour those rights to the extent they apply.
Children
Remix Studio is a paid professional tool. You must be 18 or the age of majority in your place of residence to buy a license.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date. Keep using the site or app after a change means you accept the updated notice, except where the law requires a different process.
Contact
Privacy questions go to the Support address shown in the site footer when it is configured, or through Manage using the same Google account you used to buy.
